PHILOSOPHY
Unity
For Centuries, women of Africa have been divided by colonialism, apartheid, wars and many other circumstances that have not allowed women of Africa to stand together as ONE. The wind of 21st Century is blowing right now where women of Africa are rising up to take their rightful place on the Continent. UNITY IS STRENGTH!! TOGETHER, We can change the face of Africa!!!!!!!!!!
Women Economic Empowerment
From Cape to Cairo, Dakar to Mogadishu, Africa is covered with natural economic resources that know no limit. Women of Africa have an unimaginable potential, described by the World Bank, as African Economic Reserves. If taped, these reserves will change the face of Africa, once and for all. THIS IS AN ECONOMIC REVOLUTION!
Declaring War on poverty mentality
The main problem faced by the African Continent, is not Poverty. If it was Poverty, we all would have been dead by now. Which means lack of money is not the main Africa problem. The Main African Problem is POVERTY MENTALITY. Economic poverty is only a consequence of POVERTY MENTALITY.
“If we want a brand new Africa, we need a brain new African, free from poverty mentality”.
“It is said: educate a woman is to educate a Nation; we say: Educate a woman of Africa is Educate Africa”
If woman of Africa can realise her true potential and the resources she has in her hand, the Economic Reserves of Africa will be unlocked.
Women need to THINK, TALK and ACT Positive!
Leading Businesswomen of Africa
In 2001 an article on a World Bank Institute study asked, 'Can Africa claim the 21st Century?'. The author, Alan Gelb, confirmed the enormous unexploited potential and hidden economic growth reserves in its people, especially women"
The African Continent is offering enormous economic resources that need to be accessed by all Africans, including women. However, the reality on the ground has proven that Africans in general, and women of Africa in particular have not yet been given the opportunity to have access to these opportunities.
Leading Businesswomen of Africa will ensure women’s equal access to economic resources and information, including trade and markets information and Science and technology.
Women Rebuilding Africa Programme (WRAP)
“Reaching Millennium Development Goals in Africa through Empowerment of women”
The Beijing Conference in 1995 stressed the empowerment of women as one of the central development goals of the 21st century. It adopted a Platform for Action which calls for mainstreaming gender perspectives in the design, implementation and monitoring of all policies and programmes, including development programmes.

MAIN PROGRAMMES
Leadership and good Governance programme for women of Africa
Africa has been characterized by lack of leadership and good governance. With on going political conflicts in many parts of the Continent as well as economic instability, there is a huge need for more women to step in, alongside men and find strategic solutions to various challenges faced by the Continent.
This programme is designed to develop the leadership potential of women decision makers in order to unlock peace and stability on the Continent. It is designed to enhance real empowerment for women to understand their leadership role. The programme sets out a powerful leadership experience and transformation in an African perspective.
It is intended that the programme will help to address the current need for more women to access in senior ranks of economic, social, political and public decision-making. This is a global situation affecting governance at local, regional, national and international levels, but in Africa it has been exacerbated by the prolonged period of political instabilities. Women have yet to take their rightful place alongside men in making decisions about the future of Africa.
This intense, practical and interactive programme covers the multifaceted dimensions of leadership of women and is designed around four (4) most challenging areas faced in Africa:
- Leadership
- Good Governance
- Conflict resolutions
- Women Economic Empowerment

Personal and Business Development Programme for Women
In its mission to promote Economic Empowerment of Women, Leading Women of Africa has put in place “Personal and Business Development Programme” that facilitates and monitors Socio and economic empowerment of women in the formal and informal private sector and their positive implication in the Continent’s Economy. This programme is intended to unleashed the economic potential African women in small and medium enterprises and women at the grassroots level to facilitate and monitor their social and economic empowerment in order to reach the millennium goal by 2015.
The programme is successfully being implemented in South Africa and will soon roll out in other African Countries. Depending on empowerment priorities of women in each Country, the following priorities will be discussed:
- Personal Development
- Economic Empowerment
- Communication and Technology
- Women’s Health
- Women and Farming
- Women and Environment
- Women’s Education and Literacy
- Africanism
Women in Technology
For centuries, Africans in general and women in particular have been boxed in their under-developed environment and had little information outside their areas. Even though the use of mobile phones is on rise in Africa, the high cost of access is relatively high for women, who make up the majority of the poor in developing countries.
The use of Communication and technology will allow women to change the level at which they communicate and adopt a new perspective on the world.
COMPUTERS AND INTERNET CONNECTIVITY NEEDED
In order to reach women at grassroots level in Africa, we are still in need of computers and Internet connectivity in remote areas of the continent. DONATE A computer today.
