Future is Female and LWA Men Champions Awards Shortlisted Nominees and Honorary Awardees Announced
Leading Women of Africa (LWA) is proud to unveil the shortlisted nominees for the 2024 Future is Female Awards and LWA Men Champions Awards.
This year’s awards attracted over 100 nominations from 20 African countries, spanning across four main categories: Public Sector, Corporate Sector, Civil Society, and Entrepreneurship. The independent selection committee, comprised of highly respected female and male leaders from across the continent and the Diaspora, meticulously reviewed the entries. Following rigorous research and deliberation, the adjudicators shortlisted 30 nominees for the Future is Female Awards and 18 nominees for the LWA Men Champions Awards across the four categories. Additionally, 12 Honorary Awardees have been selected for special recognition.
The winners will be revealed at the highly anticipated 2024 Africa Partnership for Growth (APG) Symposium & Awards Gala, set to take place on the evening of 23rd November 2024 in Cape Town. The gala will serve as the grand finale of the APG Symposium & Exhibition, which runs from 20th to 22nd November 2024.

LWA Future is Female & LWA Men Champions Awards
Endorsed by the late Dr. Kenneth Kaunda, who served as the Patron of LWA, the Future is Female and LWA Men Champions Awards are Africa’s most distinguished and prestigious accolades. They aim to raise awareness of the pivotal roles female and male leaders play as transformative agents of change. These awards recognize outstanding female and male leaders who have been instrumental in unlocking the potential of women and acknowledging them as equal partners in sustainable socio-economic development.
The LWA Annual Awards provide an esteemed platform for both female and male leaders to demonstrate their unwavering support for the advancement of women across Africa.
The core objective of the LWA Champions Awards is to shine a light on the contributions of both men and women in empowering women, while recognizing their influential roles in driving socio-economic change across the continent. The awards honor excellence, encourage good governance, and promote a culture of integrity in African societies.
PAST EVENTS
The Leading Women’s Economic Summit & Exhibition 2024 – Malawi was designed to open-up economic opportunities to a growing and increasingly well-placed women entrepreneurs engaged in business in Malawi. The event marked the launch of Leading Women of Africa – Malawi. The Summit has provided an historical platform for women of Malawi to position themselves as agents of change in the country.The event was a high-level gathering of Government leaders, policy makers, as well as women change agents. It offered a platform for first class networking between women entrepreneurs from Malawi, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Zimbia. In addition, women were given a platform to showcase various products and investment opportunities.
